Lent- Easter Season

Next Service:

The Season of Lent

The Season of Lent lasts from Ash Wednesday to the days of Holy Week and into the Feast of Easter.  In 2018, we begin with Ash Wednesday on February 14th and celebrate Easter on April 1st.  In between, we are engaged in a faith journey that finds focus in reflection, repentance, and re-formation.  This is a season, when you are invited to examine your life and make changes that will draw you closer to God, all within the context of prayer.

Ash Wednesday, March 6th

The Imposition of Ashes and the Holy Eucharist are celebrated at 6 pm at St. John Bosco, Millville.  Some of our members have been involved in Ashes-to-Go, a contemporary effort to carry the message of repentance and new life out of the church and into the community.

Lenten Meditations 2019 (Episcopal Relief & Development).

These booklets of daily reflections for the season of Lent are set in the context of international service.  Free Lenten Meditations booklets are available at church.  Find out more about Episcopal Relief & Development (ERD).

Lent is a season of study and reflection

The Book Discussion Group will be meeting on Wednesdays, 10:30 am to 11:30 pm, Mar 27, and Apr 3 and 10; at St Andrew's Bridgeton.  The book for discussion is William Kent Krueger’s Ordinary Grace (Atria Books, Simon & Schuster, 2013).  Guests and friends are welcome to join the group.
