Emergency response for flood relief in Gulf Coast dioceses…
Episcopal Relief & Development (ERD) is supporting the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana’s emergency response efforts in the wake of widespread flooding that has affected more than 40,000 homes across the state. With support from ERD, the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana is responding to immediate needs such as food, emergency housing and storage, gasoline and replacement of lost items by distributing gift cards at churches and shelters. Over the long-term, the economic impact of the flood will fall most heavily on those least able to recover quickly, with road and business closures resulting in lost income on top of repair costs. Please pray for all those impacted by storms and flooding, for first responders who are conducting rescue operations, and for church communities who are reaching out to care for their most vulnerable members and neighbors. To enable ERD to respond to the current Gulf Coast flooding and to support emergency preparedness and long-term recovery efforts in the United States, please donate to the US Disaster Response Fund, Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) at http://www.episcopalrelief.org/us-disaster-fund; or by postal mail to Episcopal Relief & Development, P.O. Box 7058, Merrifield, VA 22116-7058.

Design ideas for the new church
At last Sunday's coffee hour, our wardens, Ed Bowman and John Pearson, Jr., gave a vestry update on all of the developments regarding the sale of our two churches and the building of a new one. Ed Bowman invited members of the congregation to email him with questions, concerns, and suggestions for the design of a new church. His email address is lawbow2001@yahoo.com
